Akindolire Meets Staff, Pledges Results-Driven Leadership in the Ministry.

The new Commissioner for Economic Planning and Budget, Mr. Olaoluwa Akindolire, today, held his maiden meeting with staff of the Ministry, including personnel from key units such as the Budget Office, Bureau of Statistics and FADAMA.

Describing the gathering as a “family meeting,” Mr. Akindolire, who began his civil service career in the same Ministry, expressed gratitude for the warm reception and emphasized his commitment to purposeful and transparent leadership.

“This Ministry is where I started my journey. I’m here to make a mark, and from what I have seen, I’m confident in the team’s dedication,” he stated.

He encouraged open communication among staff and discouraged gossip, adding, “My office is always open. Let’s discuss issues constructively. Every challenge presents an opportunity for growth.”

Welcoming the Commissioner, Mr. Bamidele Daisi, Administrative Secretary of Economic Planning and Coordinating Office, praised the appointment as well-considered. He remarked, “Mr. Akindolire is a round peg in a round hole. This ministry is home to him, and we commend Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa for this thoughtful decision,” he said.

Also speaking, Pastor Stephen Aworere, Administrative Secretary of the Budget Office, noted that Akindolire’s familiarity with the system would enhance efficiency. “We won’t have to over-explain ourselves—he already understands the terrain,” he remarked.

The Acting Statistician-General, Mr. O.S. Ajayi, pledged full support from the Statistics bureau, assuring the Commissioner of the team’s readiness to work collaboratively toward state development goals.

Mr. Olasiji Olatunji, Administrative Secretary of FADAMA, echoed similar sentiments, affirming the unit’s commitment to supporting the Commissioner’s vision.

In closing, Barr. 'Segun Akosile, Director for Finance and Administration, Economic Planning and Coordinating Office, delivered vote of thanks. He pledged the support and cooperation of staff to the Hon. Commissioner, as well as admonishing him to plead the course of the entire civil servants with Mr. Governor whenever such opportunity arises.

Dr. Akinkunmi, Director of Accounts, who gave the closing prayer, reminded staff that “there is no fraction in loyalty—it must be 100 percent.”

With strong backing from his team and a clear sense of purpose, Akindolire’s leadership is expected to usher in a new era of effective planning and sustainable development for Ondo State.
